MakinaRocks (Co-CEOs Andre Yoon, Jae-hyeok Lee), an AI startup specializing in manufacturing and industrial solutions, will attend Hannover Messe 2022, the world's largest automation fair, to be held in Hanover, Germany, from Monday, May 30, to Thursday, June 2, 2022.

Founded in 2017, MakinaRocks has offices in Seoul and Silicon Valley, MakinaRocks successfully secured early-stage funding from Naver D2 Startup Factory, a CVC arm of Naver, Korea's tech giant and a global tech platform. The AI startup garnered much attention when it raised 12 billion won in Series A funding from major Korean conglomerates including LG Technology Ventures, Hyundai Motor Company and Applied Ventures. In 2021, MakinaRocks was selected as one of the “World Economic Forum’s Technology Pioneers”, joining the ranks of previous selections Google and Airbnb, and Pelantier Technology.

MakinaRocks continues to expand with the launch of MakinaRocks Link™, an AI/ML model development tool, earlier this month. Harnessing its experience in AI projects for the manufacturing and industrial sectors, MakinaRocks is currently developing MakinaRocks Runway™, set to be released later this year. MakinaRocks Runway™ is an MLOps platform that will enable full integration of the development, deployment and monitoring of AI/ML models.

Hannover Messe is the world’s largest industrial trade fair, with its inaugural event held in 1947 in Hanover, Germany. Hannover Messe 2019 was attended by more than 6,500 companies and 200,000 visitors from 75 countries. After being canceled in 2020 due to the pandemic, the 2021 event was held virtually.

Set to be held physically for the first time in three years, Hannover Messe 2022 is expected to bring 2,300 companies, including global manufacturing technology companies such as ABB and Siemens, and a number of global tech giants such as Google, AWS, and Microsoft. Korean businesses including Hyundai Robotics, LS Electric, and Iljin Hysolus will also join the event with KOTRA set to establish the Korea Pavilion.

Hannover Messe 2022 will have two main themes “Digitalization and Sustainability” that embody the event slogan of “Industrial Transformation”. Its exhibitor list covers a wide range of industrial sectors including mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, logistics, energy, software and technology. Prominent small- and medium-sized enterprise around the world will install physical or digital booths to showcase their visions and solutions in digitization, artificial intelligence, automation and energy.

MakinaRocks will take part in this year’s Industry 4.0 Conference and give a presentation entitled “Machine Learning Operations (MLOps) for Manufacturing: From AI Initiative to Impact.” The MakinaRocks session will be held on Wednesday, June 1 at 12:10 pm local time (June 1, 19:10 pm KST) in Hall 8.

“According to Deloitte Research, 91% of global companies believe that AI will drive growth and innovation in the manufacturing sector, but only 9% of the companies have met the initial targets in their AI projects.”, said CEO Andre Yoon. He added, “I hope our presentation at the Industry 4.0 Conference will deliver insights to manufacturing and industrial companies at home and abroad into how best to integrate AI into their business operations.”
